Yesterday Sonja, Savanah and I went to MAC and had makeovers. We also had lunch, except I didn’t eat due to my stomach issues, and walked around an outdoor mall. We had a great time together. I wish I had a picture of all 3 of us, but none of us remembered our cameras. Here’s one The Girl took of me last night though:

Toto
Friday night, when Rainbow Shoes got home, a little black poodle mix jumped into his car. The little guy has been hanging around for the last few days, so we took him in while we try to find his owner. He’s a really cute little guy, and The Girl is already smitten. I’ve called Animal Control and filed a found report, plus we put signs up around the neighborhood. So far no responses. I also took him to the dog run, and no one knows who he belongs to. We already have several people who want to take him in though. Here’s his picture. We’re working on trimming his hair because he’s a bit of a mess, but he really is a sweet boy.
Catching Up
So much has happened, and I’ve been slacking here. You’ll see that as a running theme, if you haven’t already.
Numbah One Son’s car was stolen on Sept 7, right out from in front of my apartment. We know it happened between 12:30 a.m. and 2 a.m. It was recovered 2 weeks ago, and is in the shop. We should be able to get it back this week. It appears it was taken and either used in another crime, or just for a joy ride. Fortunately, it wasn’t in bad shape. The interior door panels and locks need to be replaced, the battery cables were cut, and the brand new battery was stolen. No one quite understands why the thief didn’t just disconnect the battery and take it that way. My Ipod was stolen, and a few other miscellaneous items, but all in all, we’re grateful it wasn’t worse, because it sure could have been.
Rainbow Shoes is doing extremely well in school. He just helped one of the instructors develop a curriculum for a new class they’ll be offering next Spring. He’s also still working on T-shirt designs, and is branching out into tote bags and customized artwork on canvas tennis shoes. The Girl bought a pair of knock-off white canvas tennis shoes (like Keds or Vans) and he drew on them for her, and now all her friends want some. I’ll have pictures up here as soon as we get them. He’s really coming into his own, and is so talented!
The Girl is on the Middle School dance squad, and is really enjoying that. The coach really works them hard, boot camp style, so now she likes to show off her “abs of steel”. She’s also getting straight A’s, and is one busy little social butterfly. She’s at Magic Mountain and Knotts Berry Farm this weekend on a trip with about 120 other middle schoolers.
That’s the latest on the kids, and I’m sorry there are no pictures this time. I’ll get that together this weekend.
